34 Year 11 GCSE students and 4 staff visited Poland between

Our visit took in a walking tour of Krakow old town, Schindlers’ factory, Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, a visit to Wawel Castle and the Galicia museum where we met a Holocaust survivor. This visit in first instance was to support studies in both History and PEARS and deepen students’ knowledge about the Holocaust. However the trip was so much more giving our students first hand insight into the daily suffering of those persecuted during occupation of Poland walking where victims walked and witnessing where they were taken to their deaths.

Our students were an absolute credit to our school, dealing with information and images of a sensitive nature in the most mature way. To all those students who took part I would like to say a huge well done for their conduct and hope this is an experience they will never forget.
