Futsal Tournament

The Year 11 Football Team

The Year 11 Football Team

On Thursdays 5th March, the Year 11 school football team attended a Futsal tournament in Birmingham. The five a side tournament had 8 teams with four teams in each group. The tournament was contested at an extreme pace and every Learner taking part represented the school in a positive and encouraging way.

Despite the disappointment of not winning the tournament, the tactics of playing the game was very much beneficial to the team. Futsal focuses on the ethos of ‘pass and move’ techniques, moving the ball quickly, short passes and being aware of your surroundings at all times. The tournament was very enjoyable and the Year 11 Learners should be extremely proud of themselves. Well done!

Boscobel House raises over £100 for Birmingham Children Hospital

On Friday 30th January the Boscobel House Officials ran a ‘Boys Charity Basketball Event’ in order to raise money for their chosen House Charity, Birmingham Children’s Hospital.  Over 110 boys in Years 7-11 took part in a 1 hour basketball slot lead by Mr Quiney. The House Charity team have so far raised £157 through the delivery of this event and through the sales of charity bands. They will continue to raise the profile of this charity and spread awareness in forthcoming events.  This was a fantastic event! All Learners participated with impeccable behaviour and played some excellent basketball.

A massive thank you must go to the Boscobel House team for their outstanding planning and organisation.
