I’m so grateful to have been appointed as one of the Presidents for this new academic year. Over my 4 years at Beacon Hill, I’ve had many leadership roles such as ‘Senior Careers Assistant’, ‘Student Ambassador’ and ‘Junior President’. Within these previous roles, I’ve been able to share my ideas, express my creativity and develop many new skills.
Now, as president for this year, I’m eager to work with the rest of the Senior Crew to collectively make our school a better place. We all have many ideas on how to do this. My ideas mainly focus on helping learners settle back into school easily, ensuring year 11 learners are helped as much as possible through their last year at Beacon Hill and helping new year 7 learners adjust to life at their new school. My priorities will be developing a mental health program, continuing and upscaling the work of the Careers Programme, ensuring learning time for year 11’s before approaching exams is maximised and educating learners on the Black Lives Matter movement.
