Philosophy Ethics And Religious Studies

What is taught?

PEARS (Philosophy, Ethics and Religious Studies) gives learners a greater understanding of various religions, ethical issues and philosophical ideas throughout history and in the present day. Learners will learn about Christianity, Hinduism, Budhism and more.

How is it taught?

Lessons are taught as an engaging mix of class debates and written pieces. Class debates are particularly useful in this subject, as it gives everyone the opportunity to hear, and be heard. It also quite often can have a significant impact on the viewpoint that a learner previously held, as one of their peers may represent a viewpoint that they have never considered before.

What makes your subject unique?

PEARS actively encourages and facilitates class debates and is always keen to point out that "There is no right or wrong answer". In our subject, everything is - subjective.
